Internationally famous chef (and star of the F-word and Kitchen Nightmares) Gordon Ramsay opened his first restaurant in 1998 and his expertise and work has earned Michelin stars.
When a world-class name in tableware meets a top international chef, the result is tableware, glassware and cookware that' brings restaurant-style professionalism to dining in. Royal Doulton's designers, headed by Dik Delaney, worked closely with Gordon Ramsay and his team to research the finer details of presentation and practicality. Gordon Ramsay said, "I aimed at creating tableware and glassware to enhance the food prepared by myself and my chefs. It had to be of the highest quality, made available to my customers so they could get used to it at home for presentation."

White tableware is a popular choice as a canvas for cooking, of course. But this design features a subtle embossed ripple effect to keep the focus on the cuisine. Dik Delaney, said, "Gordon had a key part to play in the project, especially the development phase. Naturally, he preferred clean white bone china to any colours, so that there was no distraction from the food itself. And he wanted a series of decreasing concentric circles around the rim to effectively draw the eye to the centre of the plate." True to their restaurant origins, each refined tabletop piece was conceived with versatility and durability in mind. And this chic collection is ready for everyday use - after all, it's used in Gordon Ramsay's restaurants every day.

The complementary range of clear glassware is a distillation of the vast range of glasses available to a restaurateur. Here, Royal Doulton collaborated with sommeliers from the Maze and Gordon Ramsay at Claridge's. The result? A selection wide enough to be the ultimate sommelier collection, yet simplified enough to allow you to be maitre d' at home. Gordon said, "It's essential that correctly sized and shaped glasses are used for different wines, because grape varieties release their aromas and flavours in various ways and the shape of the glass helps to capture the full flavour. The shape and width of the rim delivers wine into distinct areas of the mouth." He said of the collection's signature piece, "The champagne flute is elegant but not too tall, so it is stable. The return cave is designed to retain the bubbles and is ideally sized for drinking or sipping."

But the attention to professional detail doesn't stop there. Gordon Ramsay and Royal Doulton also created Tri Ply Cookware in 18/10 stainless steel and copper, with aluminium cores. Gordon Ramsay commented, "You can only expect to create good food by using the best tools. The range has been designed to work hard for every type of food and every level of experience. I use them in my kitchen." Careful research and design also led to the use of porcelain oven to tableware to match the white dinnerware. Gordon Ramsay said, "I think great oven to tableware needs to perform on so many levels. To ensure that, we used porcelain. In the oven, dishes are cooked evenly. It looks great on the table and retains heat." With Gordon Ramsay by Royal Doulton, you can bring restaurant standards home.
